ORANG FEST: Supporting the survival of Orangutans

Currently Orangutans are in deep crisis with extinction in the wild predicted around 2015. Palm oil farming and production is the greatest threat to Orangutan survival with rainforests being felled for palm oil plantations at an alarming rate (approximately 300 soccer fields per hour) destroying precious habitats and ecosystems. Sadly this is not the only threat, blackmarket trade and local hunters culling Orangs for bush meat also play a role in the decimation of this highly intelligent Ape.
