Today, my EP, Mean Old Clock hits the physical and digital shelves of Australia. 10 years after I first started playing my songs on stage in my early years of high school, 20 years after learning piano as a teeny tiny tot. The clock is not so much mean as it is kind and patient and inspiring. It takes all the hardship and leaves us with the journey. This is a little introduction into who I am and what I’ve seen in my years on the planet so far, people that have touched me and hardships I’ve encountered. One day I stopped and thought, other people go through these things too, that’s when I decided to write songs.
When I had the songs written I teamed up with the talented, well, the genius, Josh Pyke to make a warm sounding record in his home. We just did what the songs asked for while having a laugh and a really really fun time. He has a stockpile of weird and wonderful instruments that we mucked around with and created something that in the past I had only dreamed about. It’s what I’ve always heard in my head, only better.

There are also a couple of songs I recorded while on my travels last year in the states. I found a friend in an incredible guy Mike Daly who used to play and write in Whiskeytown, a band that is now the stuff of urban legends. I played my songs to him and together we perfected them and put them to tape. Universe Can Wait was recorded with a band and Mean Old Clock was just me having fun with many many layers of me me me.
