Moods, kudos and very small Weetbix

Welcome to my corner of the big black hole that is your internet browser. Now I have somewhere I can write, away from myspace blogging. I don’t have to pick which mood I’m in or wait for kudos. I always found it quite hard to choose whether I was blustery, bitchy or just plain blah.

I’ve just had my two Weetbix (don’t they just seem tiny now we’re grown up) and a tea in the vain hope of thawing my frozen-it-shouldn’t-be-winter-yet-in-Melbourne hands. I’m counting down the minutes till I have to get on that train with all the straight faced train people and go to work.

A few things that will make me smile to myself on the train:
1. That I played my first headline Melbourne show this last Friday and it (amazingly) sold out. Thanks to all the lovely folk who came.
2. That my EP will be in shops in your town and on iTunes on May 8th.
3. That I am excited about supporting my favourite Melbourne band Skipping Girl Vinegar at their Melbourne and regional Victorian shows this week (the incredible Dead Letter Chorus will be playing too).
4. And just quietly, the biggest smile comes from the hope that one day soon I’ll be lucky enough to travel around this fine brown land and bring my songs to your local pub rather than just on this bloggy thing.

More soon. L x

P.S. In the meantime, here is a little video I made when I was on my travels last year.
